(*) ABC I/O: Emit Motion Velocity from moving ABC meshes with varying vertex count [done 25 Jul 23]

Removed features:

Bug fixes:
(*) Simulation General: The simulation appeared chopped when simulating a Simulator with Steps Per Frame above 1, parented to a Helper with an added Controller [fixed 28 Jul 23]
(*) Fire/Smoke Solver: Any errors during PCG GPU simulation caused a crash [fixed 15 Jul 23]
(*) FLIP Liquid Solver: Fixed waves appearing near the Simulator borders when the container was animated to translate horizontally [fixed 21 Jul 23]
(*) FLIP Liquid Solver: Liquid particles could slide over the ocean surface for a long time before merging, even with Droplets Surfing of 0.0 [fixed 18 Aug 23]
(*) FLIP Liquid Solver: Crash if emitting Mist particles from a Source but Splash To Mist was 0 and there was Wetting with Consumed Liquid enabled [fixed 05 Oct 23]
(*) Standalone Simulator: Exporting simscenes to directories that didn't exist yet failed without displaying an appropriate error [fixed 26 Aug 23]
(*) Sources: Crash if running out of memory when emitting from particles [fixed 15 Jul 23]
(*) Sources: Emitting from particles in Volume Brush mode when using Noise in the Source often produced 100% brush effect even with very low Brush Effect values [fixed 24 Aug 23]
(*) Sources: Directed Velocity was not calculated correctly when emitting from Particle Flow [fixed 03 Oct 23]
(*) Particle Tuner: Deleting Splash or Mist particles using a Tuner created Liquid particles when Affect Liquid was higher than 0 [fixed 27 Jul 23]
(*) Particle Shader: Crash when rendering many particles in Bubbles or Cellular mode using a Count Multiplier higher than 1 [fixed 04 Aug 23]
(*) Volumetric Illumination: Fire Lights were always created on the active render layer even if the Simulator was placed in another layer when the 'Hidden lights' option was off [fixed 03 Oct 23]
(*) Preview: Random crash when previewing a large number of particles [fixed 12 Jul 23]
(*) Preview: Viewport slowdown when loading VDB sequences, since Phoenix 5.20 [fixed 13 Jul 23]
(*) Preview: Slow viewport preview with instanced VDB caches [fixed 19 Jul 23]
(*) Preview: Rendering an animation didn't update splines created by Auto bake Streamline Preview [fixed 09 Sep 23]
(*) Cache I/O: Input Grid Smoothing's Threshold/Similarity/Random Variation controls were broken, since Phoenix 5.20 [fixed 26 Jul 23]
(*) Cache I/O: Input Grid Smoothing's Similarity was broken, since Phoenix 3.11 [fixed 02 Aug 23]
(*) PRT I/O: The 'Export PRT Particles' right click menu was not visible when a Modifier is applied to the Simulator [fixed 08 Aug 23]
(*) PRT I/O: Using a deformer over PRT cache loaded in the Simulator showed wrong deformation when changing the timeline frame [fixed 19 Aug 23]
(*) Grid Texture: Velocity data read by the Grid Texture had wrong direction when the Flip YZ option of the source Simulator was ON [fixed 21 Aug 23]
(*) Grid Texture: Mapper setting Grid Velocity to a Simulator read by a Grid Texture from a rotated Simulator produced wrong velocity directions [fixed 09 Sep 23]
(*) Grid Texture: Memory leak when simulating and a Grid Texture is used for some material when the simulation that has many steps per frame and contains particles [fixed 26 Sep 23]
(*) Submitting Simulations: Submitting a Simulator that used the default $(scene_path) output for Deadline .max scene simulation threw a MAXScript exception without showing a friendly error message [fixed 26 Aug 23]
(*) Standalone Preview: Linux and macOS file pick dialog broken, since Phoenix 5.20 [fixed 14 Jul 23]
(*) User Interface: The cache was flipping back when changing any of the Input Grid Smoothing options while 'Flip Up Axis' was enabled [fixed 15 Aug 23]
(*) User Interface: Phoenix Progress Bars were cropped in high DPI [fixed 03 Oct 23]
(*) User Interface: Texture selector controls in floating rollouts didn't update when cleared while the Simulator's command panel was not shown [fixed 03 Oct 23]

Enhanced performance
Get the job done faster with this update’s performance enhancements. With faster liquids, particle textures and previews, cache generation, and more, Phoenix simulations are now up to 20% faster compared to Phoenix 5.10.
Enhanced user interface [3ds Max]
A quicker and more customizable Floating User Interface for the Simulation, Rendering, Preview, Scene Interaction, and Input rollouts. Plus, a new, floating window to dock and arrange Phoenix Simulator rollouts as desired.
Sources
Take command of fluid emission like never before. The new Directed Velocity option inside the Phoenix Sources allows you to effortlessly create velocities in the desired direction or even leverage the power of texture maps to influence them.
Enhanced Ocean
Save precious setup time and get realistic results faster thanks to added support for ocean rendering with an adaptive grid. The adaptive grid can now expand vertically* for ocean scenes, eliminating the need for manual tweaks.
* Only vertical adaptive grid expansion for Ocean simulations is supported.
Fine control over Active Bodies
Create even more realistic watercraft animations. You can now lock the rotation of an Active Body clone object to the original object, allowing boats to lean while turning.
Simulation Speed rollout
Optimize your simulations with the help of the new Simulation Speed rollout. Gain valuable insights into the most time-consuming aspects of your simulation, and get useful tips on how to speed them up.
Improved V-Ray CPU IPR support [Maya]
Receive instant feedback to fine-tune your simulations or explore different looks with improved support for V-Ray CPU’s Interactive Production Rendering. Save time to be creative.
Streamlined preset creation
Create toolbar presets even without a selected object. If no object is selected a sphere is automatically created and used as an emitter for the simulation.
TexUVW Isosurface support [Maya]
Transport texture coordinates along fluids during the simulation and uses them together with the Isosurface render mode to create advanced render-time effects.
Deadline Simulation Submissions
Preview simulations when running sim scenes through AWS Thinkbox Deadline thanks to the Phoenix Standalone Previewer. Plus, see how the simulation progresses when submitting .max scenes.
